Anthem2026_TitleWaves_Vote_square-2

We are thrilled to share that "Title Waves"—the powerful multimedia feature published in Long Lead that spotlights our landmark Title IX litigation—has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious 2nd Annual Anthem Awards in two separate categories: Special Projects (Belonging & Inclusion) and News & Journalism (Belonging & Inclusion).

Presented by the Webby Awards, the Anthem Awards celebrate purpose-driven, social impact work from across the globe. This recognition offers an incredible opportunity to amplify the fight for gender equity in Hawaii’s public schools on a national stage, and we need your help to bring home the win.

About "Title Waves"
Written by acclaimed journalist Kim Cross, "Title Waves" masterfully connects 50 years of civil rights history in Hawaiʻi. The piece weaves together the parallel stories of two trailblazing local women who fundamentally changed the landscape of education:

    • Congresswoman Patsy Mink, the legendary author of Title IX who cleared the path for gender equity nationwide in 1971.
    • Ashley Badis, an ACLU of Hawaiʻi plaintiff and dedicated student-athlete who stood up to demand that her high school simply provide girls' sports teams with the equal facilities, funding, and respect required by law.

How You Can Take Action: Vote by October 30!
The Anthem Community Voice Awards are decided by public voting, and every single ballot counts.
